If you like cooking with cannabis, cannabis butter is one of the almost obligatory ingredients. However, for the correct execution of any recipe, cannabis butter is normally used, but where does this delicacy come from?
Making marijuana butter is one of the simplest recipes available. Moreover, there are no risks during its preparation. However, this recipe is very useful for the realization of many others. Let’s see how to cook it!
Making marijuana butter: step by step
First of all, the first thing we have to do is prepare the materials we are going to use to make our delicious marijuana butter.
Saucepan / Casserole and strainer
- Butter 250 gr
- Marijuana leaves or small buds (if leaves, containing trichomes) Between 15 gr. and 25 gr.
- Water 500 ml
We begin by putting about 500ml of water in a saucepan or casserole and we put it to heat. It is important to emphasize that the water MUST NOT come to a boil at any time in the recipe. We only have to heat it. If it does come to the boil, we must lower the intensity of the fire or the glass-ceramic hob.
After this, we add the marijuana to the water and stir it slowly for five minutes. This step is essential to get the trichomes to dissolve and adhere later to the fat in the butter.
We add the butter to the saucepan and stir the marijuana in the water until it dissolves properly. Everything should be well mixed. Therefore, we advise you to be stirring for about fifteen minutes so that the trichomes adhere to the fat in the butter.
We strain the water with the strainer to avoid lumps from the marijuana. These remains are no longer necessary. We have the marijuana diluted with the water and the butter. Once the water is warm, we put it in the fridge for about six hours. With this, we’ll get the butter to separate from the water and solidify. After this, we take it out of the fridge and separate the butter from the water and put it back in the fridge. And that’s it! Now we have our marijuana butter ready. Easy, fast and for all tastes.
How much marijuana do you put in the marijuana butter
This is one of the most important and interesting points when preparing this recipe. How much marijuana should we put in? Normally, with the amount of water and butter that we have indicated, it is normal to use between fifteen and 25 grams of marijuana. However, the exact figure depends on several factors, such as the quality of the marijuana and the potency we are looking for.
If we are going to use marijuana with a high THC level, we recommend using a smaller amount. If we are used to a weaker marijuana, 25 grams will be ideal.
If you are going to use leaves instead of buds, you should choose those containing trichomes, i.e. those closest to the buds.
If you are not going to consume it all in the same day (as is normal), you should keep it in the fridge, as if it were normal butter. This butter is used to make other recipes such as marijuana cupcakes.
It is very important to remember that the effect when we consume marijuana is much higher than when we smoke it. So we have to be careful and eat it little by little.
