Cooking with marijuana: an amazing experience
If you’ve consumed the typical marijuana brownies or cookies, you probably already know that the experience is a beastly one. After that, many people decide to start cooking with marijuana themselves. So here are a few tricks to help you succeed in your first cannabis recipe.
Making the most of marijuana. The first thing you need to know is that THC is responsible for the psychoactive effects. For it to work when cooked, it has to be mixed with some fat and heated. This can be oil, butter, cream… That’s why all the recipes have some of these ingredients. The fat can absorb up to 80% of the THC. However, if you decide to mix it with water, it won’t absorb more than 40%.
Be careful with the temperature. In many of the posts we publish for cooking with marijuana we advise that the temperature should not be too high. If it is above 160 degrees, you are likely to lose some of the essential cannabinoids and therefore some of your effect.
How much will we use. It’s important to be careful with the amounts, let’s not overdo it. It is advisable to use half a gram of marijuana in bud for each person. Although if you consider that the marijuana you have is very potent, it’s better to use a little less. In case you have made marijuana butter, our advice is to add less marijuana to the recipe. This shouldn’t be the same as cooking with regular marijuana.
Time to kick in. We have explained on several occasions that cannabis taken orally takes longer to get high than when smoked. So you have to be patient and wait at least an hour after you have used it. When we notice the effect, if we consider that it is not enough, we can eat something else.
In our section of cannabic recipes we have left a great number of really delicious recipes with which you will succeed with your colleagues, but always with caution and with the desire to have a good time!
